Funeral services for Mayo C. Plymel, 95, of Cairo will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, December 23, 2021 at the Allen & Allen Celebration of Life Chapel. Rev. Gwen Hayes will officiate and interment will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Mr. Plymel passed away December 20, 2021 at his residence. Born February 23, 1926 in Thomasville, he was the son of the late Melvin & Lillie Mae Davis Plymel. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Pleaty Plymel. On May 10, 2003 he married Mary Young Plymel, who survives. He was retired from Champion Motor Homes and during his retirement he worked as a handy man. He was a member of Jubilee Community Church and loved hunting, fishing, and gardening. He is survived by his children, Glenn Cain and wife Anna of Moultrie, Yvonne Stillwell and husband Chris of Summerville, SC., and Sherri Crawford and husband Jonathan of Coolidge; grandchildren, Brandon Cain, Crystal & Rando Motley, Mary Stillwell, Ryan Stillwell, Heather Stillwell, Summer Stillwell, Karma & Joey Knight, Caitlin West and Aidan Crawford; great-grandson, Kian Knight and special nephews and nieces: Todd and Amanda Young, Terrianne Brumblow, Ray Plymel, and many many more. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1st wife, brother, Carlton Plymel, sisters, Eva Mae Daniels and Thelma Goldings. The family would like memorial contributions made to Bethany Hospice, 2012 E. Pinetree Blvd., Suite A, Thomasville, GA 31792. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am - 11:00 am before the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
