Melissa Joy Stinnett

Services for Melissa Joy Stinnett of Cairo will be held at 2:00PM on Tuesday February 10, 2015 in the chapel of Allen and Allen Funeral Home with Rev. David Cook officiating. Interment will be in Forrest Lawn Cemetery in Cairo. Born on February 22, 1959 in Cairo, she was the daughter of the late Claude and Marguerite Strickland. She worked for many years at Southwestern State Hospital as a Health Service Technician. She was married to Charles Michael Stinnett of Cairo who survives. Other survivors include her sons Jared Stinnett and Collin Stinnett both of Cairo; daughter Sharon Strickland of Grady Co; brothers Freddie Strickland of Flint Stone, Ga., Tommy Strickland of San Antonio, Tx, William “Bill” Strickland of Tallahassee, Fl. She was preceded in death by her son Nick Lashley and her sister Sarah Willis. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM.
