Mearl L. Isgett, age 80, of Thomasville, Georgia, passed away on March 6, 2025. Born on January 19, 1945, in Meigs, Georgia, Mearl was the beloved daughter of the late Lloyd and Kathren Layton. She dedicated her life to a successful career as a paralegal and notably served as the regional director of educational services for several state colleges.
Mearl enjoyed a wide range of activities, with a passion for gardening, going to the beach, and traveling the world. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, deeply cherished by her family. Mearl is survived by her daughter, Tisa Delaney (Kyle) of Thomasville; son, Jeff Pearce (Barbara) of Elgin, SC; daughter, Lisa Powell (Tony) of Cairo; grandchildren, Kimberly Lewis (Jay), Eric Delaney (Kala), Justin Powell, and Ryan Powell; great-grandchildren, Caden Lewis, Layton Lewis, Braden Lewis, and Olivia Powell; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Mearl was preceded in death by her husband, Laurie Isgett; son, Ricky Pearce; sister, Helen Roddenberry; and brother, Tommy Layton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital in honor of her compassionate spirit. Private services will be held at a later date.
