Services for Michael Holley Wood, 57, of Coolidge are 2:00 pm, Saturday, April 4, 2009 at Allen & Allen Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Robert Young will officiate and interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be the great nephews, Timothy Brumblow, Cody Brumblow, Chad Young, Eric Vaughn, Thomas Inlow and Dustin Inlow. Mr. Wood died March 31, in Atlanta. Born September 8, 1951 in Thomasville, he was the son of Lee Wood, Sr and Jean Farlow Wood, who survive. On June 25, 1977 in Thomasville, he married Maggie Morris Wood who survives. He was the owner of The Workbench Custom Upholstery, a member of Thomasville-Thomas County Chamber of Commerce, the Upholstery Guild and of the Baptist faith. Michael loved working with his hands. Not only was he a master upholsterer but also did woodworking and custom-built furniture. If his clients needed anything, all they had to do was show a picture or describe the item and he could create it. He took pride in his work and tried to please everyone. Other survivors include son, Jerry J. Baker Jamie and partner, Steven J. Roberts, brothers, Lee Wood, Jr, Tony Wood, Joey Wood and wife Brenda, all of Thomasville, Tracy Wood, of Ashboro, NC, numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews and many more extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Louis Wiltz & Annie Lee Roberds Farlow and paternal grandparents, M.T. & Sally Holley Wood. The family will receive friends 7-9 pm, Friday at Allen & Allen Funeral Home Chapel. Guests may sign the online guest register at www.allenfh.com
