Michael Homer Reichert, 85, of Tallahassee Florida passed away peacefully and of natural causes on December 21st 2025. Born on November 9th 1940 in Thomasville Georgia, he was the son of Homer Andrew and Martha Eudora Reichert as well as brother to the late Mary Lou Horne.

A proud Floridian for most of his life, Michael graduated from Leon High School before attending Florida State University, where his lifelong love for college football first took root. From 1955 to 1961 he faithfully served in the Florida National Guard, an experience that instilled in him a strong sense of dedication and perseverance that carried through to every aspect of his life.

Michael built a long and accomplished career as the Southern Regional Director with Guardian Life until retirement. Beyond his professional successes, he was best known for his optimism, humor, and unshakable spirit. Friends and family both remember him as a man who could bring warmth and laughter into any room and whose generosity ensured many around him were cared for.

From 1995 to 2015 Michael had become part owner of The Golden Eagle Country Club-a place that combined his passion for golf with his appreciation for good company.

Michael and his beloved wife, the late Eva Denise Reichert, shared a wonderful and authentic marriage spanning 30 years. Their time together was marked by love, laughter, and the adventures they had shared. Michael is survived by his two sons, Stephen Michael Reichert and Philip Andrew Reichert, both of whom aim to carry forward his legacy of integrity and kindness.

A small funeral service for close friends and family will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 10th, at Little Flock Cemetery in Boston, Georgia. Those who knew Michael will remember him as a genuine, lighthearted man who lived fully, loved deeply, and left behind countless fond memories. The world needs more people like Michael, he will be incredibly missed.
