Michael Edward Carnahan, age 85, passed away at his home in Ellijay, GA on February 27, 2024, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. He was preceded in death by his parents Robbie T. and Louise Carnahan, also a brother Jimmie, and son-in-law Joey Hanan. He is survived by his wife of 63 years Emily Ring Carnahan, his daughters Martha Hanan, Renee Maddox (John), Brenda Elliott (Ted), his brother Robert Carnahan, and their families. Known as Mike, he was born in Atlanta, GA, and grew up in Thomasville, GA. He was a 30+ year employee of the City of Thomasville and retired as the Superintendent of the Gas Department. After retirement, Mike and Emily moved to Ellijay where they built a cabin in the mountains and enjoyed the mountain life, hunting, and fishing. He was always willing, able, and happy to help out family and friends with their projects or in a time of need. A graveside service will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Thomasville, GA on Sunday, March 3, 2024, at 4 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asked that you donate to your charity of choice.
