Services for James Michael “Mike” Pilkinton, 72 of Thomasville will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, June 2, 2018 at First Newark Baptist Church. Rev. Steve Brooks, Pastor Danny Paul Crosby and Pastor Adam Crosby will officiate and interment will follow in Big Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Pilkinton passed away May 31, 2018 in Thomasville. Born December 23, 1945 in San Francisco, California, he was the son of the late James Olin Pilkinton and Nadine Mathis Pilkinton. He was married to Kattie Akridge Pilkinton, who survives. Mr. Pilkinton was the former owner of Jacks Lock & Key. He was a member of First Newark Baptist Church where he sang in the choir and was very active in the Thomas County Baptist Association. He was an avid outdoorsman, especially hunting and fishing and was a referee for high school football and basketball games. He is also survived by his children, Lynn Pilkinton of Grayson, Georgia and Richie Pilkinton of Thomasville. Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by brothers, Keith Pilkinton and Lindsey Pilkinton. The family will receive friends 12:30 – 2:00 pm, at the church before the service.
