Funeral services for Mozelle Hampton Wiley, 83, will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at Salem Baptist Church. Interment will be held at Salem Cemetery. Rev. Jimmy Love and Pastor Wayne Goff will officiate. Mrs. Wiley passed away on March 29, 2015. Born May 26, 1931 in Brooks County, she was the daughter of the late Jesse and Mattie Crosby Hampton. She was married on June 11, 1950 to John Franklin Wiley, who survives. Mrs. Wiley worked in retail for many years with her career ending after serving as manager of Family Dollar in Quitman, GA for 22 years. In her time with Family Dollar, she was recognized as “Manager of the Year” on the District, Regional, and Corporate levels. Mrs. Wiley was a faithful member of Salem Baptist Church where she cared for children and helped prepare food for fellowships. She enjoyed spending time with family, reading, cooking, and gardening. Other survivors include children Dale Wiley Morrow (D. R.) of St. Louis, MO; Hank Wiley of Waxahachie, TX; Beverly Wiley Allen (Bill) of Bainbridge, GA; and Annette Wiley James (Scott) of Thomasville, GA; grandchildren Jessica Morrow Ruddy (Fred) of Shelbyville, KY; Brandi Allen of Albany, GA; Bill Allen of Tallahassee, FL; Anna James and Julia James all of Thomasville, GA; great grandchildren Payton Ruddy, Stephen Ruddy, and Lillie Ruddy of Shelbyville, KY; Blaze Allen of Bainbridge, GA; Shelbe Bivins and Rosie Bivins all of Leesburg, GA; and sister Elizabeth Hampton Lastinger of Barwick, GA; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by siblings Luther Hampton, Pleais Hampton, Jay Hampton, Edward Hampton, Felton Hampton, and Willie (Bill) Hampton. The family will receive friends 5-7 pm, Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at the funeral home.
