Murry Myron Bishop

Murry M. Bishop of Coolidge, GA passed away peacefully at home on January 30, 2024. He was born January 4, 1942 in Grady County to Delma Bishop & Wilma Bishop Wisham (Bud Wisham) who preceded him in death.
Growing up, he spent most of his childhood working & playing on his Uncle Neal & Aunt Lula Mae’s farm. Murry served in the US Air Force from 1963-1967, during which time he worked as a still photographer. While serving, he was afforded the opportunity to work on projects such as the Corona Project where he developed top secret film. After his time in the service, he returned to GA where he owned & operated several service stations & convenience stores in and around Thomas County. As a business owner, he met many people and made many friends, and was known by his family as an extremely hard worker. Murry was an avid fisherman and loved to share that time with his family.
He is survived by his wife Ann Bishop; Children Alina Powell (Philip), Marla Giddens (Shawn), Ashley Bishop, Dennis Quick (Carol Oberlin), and Stephanie Quick; Grandchildren Matt Vaughan (Morgan), Caleb Giddens, Kailyn Quick (Anthony Ledward), Jared Giddens, and Sarah Fallin; Great-grandchild Leon Quick and great-granddaughter on the way. Sister; Debra Kirksey and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son "Baby Boy” Bishop, and Sisters Paula Duren and Sandra Arline
Services to celebrate the life of Murry Bishop will be held on Saturday, February 3rd at 2 pm at Allen & Allen Celebration of Life Chapel. The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm prior to the service.
