Myrtice S. Fykes

Funeral services for Myrtice Shealey Fykes, 90, of Thomasville will be held at 3:00 pm, Friday, July 16, 2021 at Allen & Allen Celebration of Life Chapel. Rev. David McMath will officiate. Mrs. Fykes passed away on July 14, 2021 at Archbold Hospital. She was born on December 14, 1930 in Irwin, Co, Ga to Earl N. Shealey and Clara B. Shealey. She was married to Cartha C. Fykes on July 25, 1952, who preceded her in death. They had three children together, Richard E. Fykes of Thomasville, Diane F. Brown (Bobby) of Thomasville and Charlie Fykes (Carol) of Thomasville. Charlie also preceded her in death. She worked as a salesclerk at Woolsworth and Coats & Clarks for many years before becoming an in-home childcare provider. Mrs. Fykes had five grandchildren, Chris Fykes, Leann F. Hines (Eddie), Patrick Brown (Melissa), Alan Fykes (Lynnette) and AJ Brown all of Thomasville. She also had 7 great-grandchildren, Hali Hines, Kendall Fykes, Lily Fykes, Briann Hines, Lane Brown, Raylynn Fykes and Grant brown. Along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Earl, WD, JT, Floyd, Bobby, Ruby, Essie, Estell, and Myrtle. Visitation will be held before the service from 2-3pm at Allen & Allen Funeral Home.
