Graveside services for Myrtle Esther Benton Griffin, 91, of Thomasville will be Sunday October 9, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Big Ochlocknee Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Griffin died in Albany, GA on October 6. Born April 4, 1920 in Thomas Co., she was the daughter of the late Perry and Sarah Elizabeth Ponder Benton. Mrs. Griffin was married for over 59 years to the late Clyde W. Griffin. She was a member of Northwoods Church of God. Mrs. Griffin loved her children and grandchildren and they were the joy of her life. She enjoyed farming, gardening and her church. She loved the Lord with all of her heart. Survivors include a son and daughter in law, Dean and Martha Griffin of Thomasville, daughters and sons in law, Diane and Charles Clayton of Albany and Sara and James Bennett of Cairo. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and sisters, Lera Fielding of Ochlocknee, Madie McClendon, Edna Palmer and Jeanette Tucker all of Thomasville; brothers Jimmy Benton, Edward Benton and Ronald Benton, all of Thomasville.
