Myrtle Martise Nolen

Memorial service for Mrs. Myrtle Martise Nolen, 88 of Pavo will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, September 26, 2015 at Pavo United Methodist Church. Rev. James Davis and Dr. Bob Slane will officiate. Mrs. Nolen passed away Sunday September 20, 2015 at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Born June 15, 1927 in Rebecca, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late James Shivers and Ida Covington Shivers. Mrs. Nolen taught at Garrison Pilcher Elementary School for over 30 years and was a member of Pavo United Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing Bridge, gardening, crocheting and making quilts by hand. She was married to Arthur Mobley Nolen who passed away on May 17, 2014. She is survived by her daughter Mimi Nolen Parrish of Pavo; grandsons Nolen Parrish and Blake Parrish both of Pavo; brothers Charles Belton Shivers of Jacksonville, Roy Shivers of Wichita Falls, Tx, and Rogers Shivers and wife Peggy of Ashburn, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Pavo United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 97, Pavo, Ga 31778 or any charity of your choice.
