Graveside services for Myrtle Segler Kennon, 77, of Thomasville are 2:00PM on Tuesday, March 11, 2003 in Laurel Hill Cemetery on 18th Street. Rev. Dr. Milton C. Gardner will officiate. Mrs. Kennon died March 8, 2003 at her residence in Thomasville. Born May 5, 1925 in Shorterville, AL, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Alvin and Rosa Hayes Segler. She married George W. Kennon, Jr. on July 20, 1947. Mrs. Kennon was retired from Southern Bell and a member of the First Baptist Church of Thomasville. She received Southern Bell's President's Meritorious Service Award and was a life member of Telephone Pioneers of America. Survivors include her husband, George W. Kennon, Jr.; son and daughter-in-law, George W. Kennon, III Ken and Debra Kennon of Thomasville; daughters and son-in-laws, June K. and Charles Cartee of Lawrenceville, and Susan K. and Michael Barwick of Thomasville; and grandchildren, Jennifer Simcox, Chad Robertson, Ashley Miller, Kimberly Kennon, Corey Barwick, Scott Barwick and Jessica Barwick.
