Nadine Hill Joyner, age 96, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on July 10, 2020 in Conroe, Texas. She was born on March 3, 1924 in Panama City, Florida and grew up in Marianna, Florida. She received her BS in Education from Atlantic Christian College in Wilson, North Carolina. She met and married Ben Joyner in 1943 and they lived in Wilson until 1975 when they moved to Thomasville, Georgia. Nadine was a wonderful teacher to her students, dedicated her life for many years and retired from Pelham City Schools in 1985. Besides her career, her family was everything to her, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she loved with all of her heart. She also believed in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was a member of Northside Baptist Church in Thomasville for many years.
Nadine was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Joyner; son, Ben Joyner, Jr.; parents, Everett Wilbur Hill, Hartie Sexton Hill and Daisy Mitchell Hill. She is survived by her daughter, Susan Joyner Brown (Andy); grandchildren, Casey Brown-Tunning (David), Drew Brown (Jamie); great-grandchildren, Devon, Tyler, Cody, Austin, Blaine, Andrew and Brantley; sister, Patricia Gable; and many numerous nieces and nephews that will miss her dearly.
Graveside and burial will be held at 10 AM on Friday, July 17, 2020 in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Thomasville, Georgia. The family wishes to thank Lovie Carter who loved and care for her and also OmegaLife Hospice. Family and friends are invited to visit her online guest register at
