Nancy Virginia Greene, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Nancy was born on September 26th , 1955, in Bainbridge, Georgia to the late Howard Kennedy and Virginia Brooks Kennedy.

Those who knew Nancy will forever remember her as full of life — fun, wonderfully stubborn, fiercely independent, and just the right amount of sassy. She lived life on her own terms, with laughter, love, and a determined spirit.

Nancy often took time to see how others were doing. She reached out with genuine care — a phone call or a message with simple words of encouragement — reminding others they were thought of and loved.

Nancy did not give up easily — not because she feared leaving this world, but because her heart was still devoted to the people she loved most. Her strength came from her deep love for her family, and she held on for them until her final moments.

The family is profoundly thankful for the four extra years they were given with her — a priceless gift made possible through the generosity of a heart donor. Those precious years brought countless memories, laughter, and time together that will be cherished forever.

She loved God deeply and trusted His plan. In her final days, she knew without question that He had her in His hands — and she faced her homegoing with peace, knowing exactly where she was going.

Nancy is survived by her three daughters — Stephanie Greene Dupree (Brian), Dana Greene Hutchison (Frank), and Heather Greene Strickland (Chris) — and by her cherished grandchildren: Cara Boyd, Bryce Boyd, Nicole Allen, Hannah Allen, Jacob Dupree, Austin Hutchison, and Brent Hutchison—great grandchildren: Caydence Gray, Mason Williams, and Elijah Williams.

She is also survived by her two sisters, Mary Ann Hayward and Sabrina Kennedy along with Duane Fawcett whose love and support meant a great deal to her.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Virginia Kennedy, and her sister, Joyce Kennedy Taylor.

Nancy’s life was a message of love, perseverance and of finding joy in whatever season of life she was in. It was a life that touched everyone she met. Her memory will continue to live in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
