Naomi Marie Phillips Mitchell, 76 of Moultrie passed away on December 30, 2024. She was born on November 12,1948 in Cairo to the late Walter Jay Crawford and Lou Ella Crawford.
In Naomi’s earlier years, she was a Sergeant for Leon County and loved her job. Naomi was known for being an excellent cook. She also loved horses and her grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughter Janice Wasiqi (Bob) of Fort Worth, TX, son Jamie Phillips and girlfriend Heidi of Moultrie, grandchildren Trever Wasiqi, Casea (Ronald) Jordan, Mahaylah Phillips, and Karmen Patterson great-grandchildren Sophia Rodriguez, Isiah Rodriguez, Hudson Jordan, and Noelanah Phillips, brother Wayne (Beth) Crawford of Moultrie, and special daughter-in-law Jonie Blackburn.
She is preceded in death by her brothers Curtis and Haywood, sisters Lavern Daniels and Christine Stripling, granddaughter Espen Jordan, her first husband of 50-plus years Jim Phillips, and second husband Johnny Mitchell.
A service to celebrate the life of Naomi Marie Mitchell will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at 10 am at Midway Baptist Church in Cairo.
