Memorial services for Naomi Ruth Ganoe Ganyard, 88 of Thomasville will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, September 1, 2012 at Morningside United Methodist Church. Rev. Allen Hartsfield and Rev. Richard Trawick will officiate. Mrs. Ganyard passed away August 26, 2012 in Cumming, Ga. Born January 19, 1924 in Romney, WV; she was the daughter of the late Dewey Sampson Ganoe and Sarah Naomi Sisler Ganoe.
Naomi and Milton moved from Ohio to South Georgia in 1950 with their first three children and then on to Boston in 1951 where the three younger children joined the family. In 1963, she moved with her family to Thomasville, where she was a charter member of Morningside United Methodist Church, raised her family and enjoyed an active, productive life. She was married 70 years to Milton C. Ganyard, Sr, who survives. Other survivors include her children, Milton Ganyard, Jr., Robert Ganyard April, Diane O'Conner Jim, John Ganyard Michele, Beth Kern Gary and Ruth Strub Bob; grandchildren, Jill Paterson, James & Joel Ganyard, Allison O'Conner, Lisa Hamilton and Timothy Ganyard, Matthew Kern, Casie and Samantha Strub; great-grandchildren, Tristan and Miles Paterson, Joseph Ganyard, Savanah, Alison, and Ryan Hamilton. She was preceded in death by grandson, Ryan Ganyard; great-grandson, Seth Ganyard; sisters, Dorothy Ganoe and Pauline Ganoe and brother, Dewey S.
