Nellavee Phillips Christie

Nellavee Phillips Christie, of Boston, passed away on September 11, 2015. Born January 26, 1923 in Dandridge, Tenn. to Claiborn and Carrie Phillips, Nellavee was the third of five children. After graduation from Karns High School in 1942, she helped with the war effort at a factory in Knoxville, and married the love of her life, Sam Christie on Oct 19,1945 in Newport News Va. She lived in Thomasville and Boston for the past 70 years, a devoted Christian who was a member of the Boston Baptist Church, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will always be remembered as the heart of the family. She is preceded in death by her parents Claiborn and Carrie, brother Sanford Phillips, and sister Marjorie Johnson. She is survived by her sister Geraldine Brahram of Knoxville, Tenn., and brother Frank Phillips of Powell, Tenn.; sons and daughters-in laws, Billy and Daphne Christie of Wakulla County, Fla., Phil and Jo Christie of Boston, Tim and Ida Christie of Woodville, Fla.; grandchildren, Hank Christie, Kevin and Jennifer Christie, Ray and Cindy Christie, Amber Christie, and Clay Christie; great grandchildren, Phillip Christie III, Katie Christie, Iris Christie, Dax Green, Landon Christie, and Zack Christie. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 14, at Allen & Allen Funeral Home, located at 110 West Hansell Street Thomasville, Ga. 31792. The Rev. Tim Phillips will officiate and interment will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept.15, at the Boston City Cemetery, located behind the Boston Presbyterian Church (Turn South on Butler Street SW.
