Services for Noel Rayburn Murchison, 81, of Quitman will be held on Sunday, February 16th, at 2:00 p.m. at Allen and Allen Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Shierling officiating. Entombment will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Thomasville. Mr. Murchison passed away on February 13, 2020 at his residence, following a long illness. He was born in Climax, GA on July 3, 1938. He was the only child of Hoyt and Maude Singleton Murchison. He graduated from Thomasville High School in 1956 and joined the Navy serving aboard the USS Lake Champlain for four years as a photographer. He then joined the Air Force and retired in 1977. He is survived by his wife, Betty Palmer Murchison; two daughters, Lisa Lofton (Sonny) of Albany and Tori Christie (Wallace) of Valdosta; son, Chad of California; and three granddaughters, Lindy Hall, Natalie Christie, and Elizabeth Christie. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, O.V. and Esther Gandy Murchison and Crayton and Mary Massengill Singleton. The family would like to thank Bethany Hospice of Thomasville for their care.
