Nora Cowart passed away on February 14, 2025, just shy of her 80th birthday. Born on February 22, 1945, in Searcy, Arkansas, Nora was the beloved daughter of John Washington and Tressie Benton. She married Sampson Cowart, who preceded her in death.
Nora dedicated several years of her life to Archbold Dialysis. Her greatest joy, however, came from her family. She cherished her children, Tina Norman (Brian) of Tallahassee, FL, and James M. Cumbus of Pine Mountain, Georgia. Nora's love extended to her grandchildren, Trent J. Strickland and Tyler K. Strickland, as well as her great-grandchildren Kamryn H. Strickland, Hayden C. Strickland, and Judson D. Strickland.
Nora is also survived by her siblings, Wilma Glisson of Grand Ridge, FL; Thomas Benton of Clermont, FL; Roland Benton of Sneads, FL; Carol McMillan of Malone, FL; and Charles Hicks. She was preceded in death by her dear sisters, Christina Robinson and Theresa Thurman, as well as her grandchild Michael J. Smith.
Nora had a love for travel, especially cruising to new destinations. She found joy in exploring the world around her, creating cherished memories with her family along the way. Her warm spirit and kindness will be profoundly missed. In honoring her memory, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
