Ollie L. Godwin

Services for Ollie Lyons Godwin, 89, of Thomasville will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at Dawson Street Baptist Church. Dr. Bill Floyd, Rev. Lee Waller and Rev. Bob Farrell will officiate and interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Godwin passed Sunday, May 11, 2014 at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Born August 27, 1924 in Homerville, GA, she was the daughter of the late Samuel L. David Lyons and Minor Corbitt Lyons. Mrs. Godwin was married to Lee Edward Godwin, who survives. Other survivors include son Lee Edward Godwin, Jr. of Thomasville. Her daughter Linda Gail Floyd and husband Bill of Graceville, FL. She had four grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren. She is survived by sister Alice Barfield of Jesup, GA; two brothers-in-law Clyde Godwin and wife Edna and Clinton Godwin and wife Margaret both of Blackshear, GA; numerous nieces and nephews; and countless friends. She was a faithful member of Dawson Street Baptist Church until her health prevented it.
