Orville Robert "Bob" Osburn, age 97, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2026, in Monticello, Florida. Born on May 17, 1929, in Del Rio, Texas, Bob lived a long and fulfilling life defined by service to his country, devotion to his family, a strong work ethic, and a remarkable ability to build, repair, and make things work.

At the age of 18, Bob enlisted in the United States Navy and went on to serve during the Korean War. During his 20 years of military service, he traveled to many countries all over the world as an aviation photographer, while most of his military career was in Florida. Upon retiring from the military, Bob continued his career in public service.

In 1968, Bob moved his family to Albany, Georgia, where he worked as a civilian at the former Naval Air Station and later at Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany. In later years, he became a realtor and operated a handyman business, putting his practical skills and resourcefulness to good use.

Above all, Bob was a devoted husband and father. He shared 61 years of marriage with his wife, Martha Louise Moore Osburn, formerly of Coweta County, Georgia. Together, they built a family and a lifetime of memories. His love and dedication to his wife and children were central to his life.

Bob is survived by his four children: Pat (Ron) Cichon of Monticello, Florida; Robert (Iris) Osburn of Atlanta, Georgia; Jeffery (Stefanie) Osburn of Marco Island, Florida; and Rebecca (Mike) Fordham of Watkinsville, Georgia. He also leaves behind eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Martha Stella Osburn and George Lee Osburn of Texas, and his wife, Martha Louise Osburn.

Outside of work and family, Bob enjoyed traveling and following the Atlanta Braves. He was a member of First Methodist Church, Albany, Georgia, and a member of the Hasan Shriners Chapter. Whether exploring new places, lending a helping hand, or taking on a project that needed fixing, Bob found ways to stay engaged with the world around him. His practical skills, determination, and willingness to work hard were qualities that those who knew him will remember.
