Services for Patricia A. Chastain Miller, 54, of Pavo, are at 11 a.m., Tuesday, October 5, 2010, at Allen and Allen Funeral Chapel. Brother John Grebeta and Brother Joe Dunn will officiate and interment is in Laurel Hill Cemetery. She went to be with the Lord on Oct. 1, 2010, surrounded by her children. Born Oct. 27, 1955, in Marietta, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Margaret Gaines. She was the second oldest of four siblings. Pat graduated from nursing school in 1979. She worked with the elderly for 25 years. She served many roles in the healthcare profession such as, CNA, LPN, RN, licensed nursing home administrator, corporate and risk management consultant and was National Director of Resident Risk for Emeritus Healthcare. She was a creative teacher who enjoyed sharing her knowledge. She was a member of Salem Baptist Church. Trish is known as Nana by her grandkids. She enjoyed being a nana and was excited about each of them. Her kids and grandkids meant the world to her. She touched many lives. Holidays were special to her and she loved to throw a party with plenty of food. She enjoyed singing and took great delight in singing with her grandkids. Her sweet voice will forever echo as we grieve. Her melody will linger on. We have joy and love in our hearts as we celebrate the achievements of her life. Survivors include children, Rachel Yarbrough, Rosie Miller, Stephanie Chastain, Lee Chastain and Shana Steedley; son-in-law and daughter-in-law, Shan Miller and Jan Chastain; grandchildren, Peyton Lee Miller, MacKenzie Ann Yarbrough, Natalie Elizabeth Steedley, Grace Elizabeth Chastain, Sarah Rose Miller, Zoey Elita Steedley and Noah Judson Chastain to be born February of 2011; sisters, Linda Nickelson, Carolyn Harrell and Joy Howard. Memorial contributions may be made to the Southwest Georgia Council on Aging, 1105 Palmyra Road, Albany, GA. 31701 or to the Langdale Hospice House, 2263 Pineview Drive, Valdosta, GA. 31602.
