Patricia Carolyn Bertsch

On Friday, May 1, 2020 Carolyn Bertsch of Ochlocknee passed away at her residence. She was born September 24, 1939 to the late Otis Brinson and Colista Smith Brinson. Carolyn was very dedicated to participating in events in Ochlocknee such as Ochlocknee’s Old South Day and the Ochlocknee American Legion. She retired from Phoebe Putney Hospital and Archbold Memorial Hospital. She also volunteered with Hospice of SW Georgia and Camp HEAL. Carolyn adored her dogs Cupcake and Millie. She is survived by her sons; Tim Bertsch (Melanie) of Metcalfe, Tony Bertsch of Ochlocknee, and Tracy Bertsch of Ochlocknee; daughter, Terri Cooley (Doug) of Jacksonville, FL; father of her children James Edward Bertsch; grandchildren, Lauren Cooley, Nathaniel Cooley, Brittni and Gerald Pannell, Sam Ayers, David Ayers, Caleb Bertsch, and Jeffrey Likins; great-grandchildren, Bryson Pannell, SaraKate Pannell, Eason Pannell, and Marley Bertsch; In addition to her parents, Carolyn is preceded in death by her sister Ann Halley and long-time companion Raiford Long. The family will hold a private service on Saturday, May 2, 2020 at Springhill Christian Church.
