Patricia Marie Joyner

Celebration of Life for Mrs. Patricia Marie Joyner will be held at Trinity Anglican Church in Thomasville, Ga on Saturday, May 7, 2022. Her family will receive friends and family at 3:00 PM at Trinity Anglian Church followed by the service at 4:00 PM. A private graveside burial will be held after the service. Pat, age 91, of Thomasville passed away on May 5, 2022, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on February 22, 1931, to the late Mary Elizabeth Sullivan and Lawrence Ackley. She married the love of her life, Bernard Floyd Joyner, on May 9, 1953, in Miami, Florida. They later moved back to Pittsburgh and were blessed with 5 children, Raymond Joyner (Joyce) of Cairo, Judi Paulk (Allan) of Orlando, Marie Fielding (Glenn) of Thomasville, Carol Parramore of Thomasville, and Glen Joyner (Lazina) of Orlando. In 1973, they moved to Thomasville, Georgia. Patricia was raised as an only child so having a large family was very important to her. She spent most of her life as a homemaker caring for her family. Her charismatic personality allowed her to be loved by many. She never met a stranger and always revealed her compassionate heart. Her life was a reflection of love as in I Corinthians, Chapter 13, verses 4-7: 4. Love is patient, love is kind, it does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, and always perseveres. A few of her passions in life included dancing and cooking for her family, as well as talking in order to get to know others. Raised in the Catholic faith, church attendance was also very important to her and she instilled this into her children. Recently, she found her new church family at Trinity. She is survived by her children, grandchildren; Rachael Wisham (Jeremy), Ashley Joyner, Tiffany Barber (Brad), Tyler Paulk (Adina), Ryan Paulk, Preston Fielding (Sandy Butler), Joshua Fielding (Nikki), Heather Congdon (Justin), Justin Fielding (Kendall), Matthew Parramore (Lainna), Sara Parramore, Johannah Lugo (Gabriel Lopez) and Juliana Tomasetti (David) and 25 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents Mary Sullivan and Lawrence Ackley, stepfather Cornelius Sullivan, husband Bernard Joyner, half-brothers George Ackley and Ernie Ackley, and grandson Christopher Paulk.
