Patricia Owens Clay

Graveside services for Patricia Owens Clay, 79, of Thomasville will be held 10:00 am June 22, 2012 at Laurel Hill Cemetery on Main Street. Rev. Stephen Murray will officiate. Mrs. Clay passed away June 18, 2012, at Archbold Hospital. Born October 8, 1932 in Tifton, she was the daughter of the late John Emory Owens and Nona Stanfield Owens. On July 31, 1955 she married Herschel Rice Clay who preceded her in death on April 9, 1994. Mrs. Clay was a 1949 graduate of Tifton High School and a 1953 graduate of the University of Georgia, was a teacher for the Thomasville School System, she was a member of the Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority, the Phi Kappa Phi Honorary Society, a member of First Presbyterian Church of Thomasville, and the Junior Service League of Thomasville. She is survived by her children Mike Clay and wife Joyce, George Clay and wife Chris, David Clay and wife Deborah and Jim Clay and wife Suzanne; grandchildren, Alexandra Clay, Michael Clay, Chelsea Clay, James-Michael Clay and Samantha Clay; brother, John Emory Owens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Inc., P.O. Box 1201, Albany, Ga 31702. A reception will follow after the graveside service at 1st Presbyterian Church.
