It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Paul Myers Jr., a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who departed this life on October 12, 2026, at the age of 74. Paul was born on November 29, 1951, to Paul and Dena Myers. A proud native of West Virginia, he graduated from Sissonville High School in Kanawha County and carried a deep sense of pride in his heritage, including his McCoy family ties to the legendary Hatfields and McCoys.

Paul served his country honorably, dedicating two decades of his life to the United States Navy as a boiler engineer. He enlisted on January 8, 1971, and achieved the rank of E6 First Class Petty Officer before retiring on April 30, 1991, off the USS Harry E. Yarnell, after years of faithful service, including tours during the Vietnam War aboard the USS America.

On August 15, 1987, he married the love of his life, the late Vicky Louise Sanders, on the Spotted Salamander Trail in Kanawha State Park, WV. Together, they created a loving family that would remain a central part of Paul's life. Paul cherished time spent fishing with his grandchildren, and adored his great-grandbabies, who were the light of his life and his sunshine, no matter how sick he felt.

Paul was proud of his Native American heritage, often engaging in crafts and pow wows. Though Paul was the son of a Pentecostal preacher, he forged his own spiritual path, becoming devoutly nondenominational. He was actively involved with the VFW Post 7175 in Millington, TN, honoring and celebrating the camaraderie of those who served.

Paul is survived by his daughters, Rachelann Puricelli (Louis) of Boston, Georgia, and Mary L. Coats (Derek) of Lawrenceburg, TN; as well as numerous grandchildren, including Briar H. Branham of Rockford, IL, Damian Wood (Julia) of Newnan, GA, Brandon Coats (Katelynn) of Norfolk, VA, Dustin Branham (Saintkay), Austin Iacono (Jacyne) of Panama City, FL, Angelina Branham of Boston, GA, Faith Coats of Lawrenceburg, GA, and John Brannon of Newnan, GA. He is also survived by his siblings, Lauradus Milton of Elk View, WV, Patty Lusher of West Pueblo, Colorado, Curtis Myers of Charleston, WV, Peter Myers (Kimberly) of Clarksville, Tennesssee, and Rachel Brogan of Charleston, WV. He also leaves behind five great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews, all of whom will chesrish his memory. Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Vicky Louise Sanders; his parents; his sister, Sheila Myers Conley; his brother, Tom Myers; and his son, Daniel Franklin Brannon.
