Pauline Cannon Smith, 84 of Thomasville passed away March 6, 2016 at The Suites of Woodleaf. Born February 24, 1932 in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Ivey Cannon and Edith Alene Mathews of Boston, Ga and Lamont, Florida. She was married to James H. Smith who survives. Other survivors include her children, Jimbo Smith of Thomasville, Julie Coram of Thomasville, Jan Amiss and husband Tom of Albuquerque, New Mexico; grandchildren, Shelley Coram Dunlap and husband Neil of Thomasville, Shasta Amiss of Tallahassee, Nashua Amis of Nashville, Tennessee and Lillie Smith of Athens; great-grandchildren, Amanda Dunlap, Asia Gurule and Reagan Gurule; sisters, Betty Lindsey of Plant City, Florida, Wilma Mitchum of Thomasville, Barbara Clements and husband Chuck and Frances Brumbley and husband Donald all of Lamont, Florida; brothers, Lonnie Cannon and wife Pat of California and Rodney Cannon of Lamont, Florida; special aunt, Estelle K. Mims of Thomasville, Jerry Taylor of Quitman who was like a son, and special extended family , the staff and residents of Suites of Woodleaf who were Mother’s best friends and special extended family and whom she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by grandson, Chip Coram, son-in-law, Chuck Coram, sister, Dorothy Ryan, brothers, Charlie Cannon and Ivey F. Cannon, Jr. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Attn: memorial/Honor Program FH, P.O. Box 1000 Dept 300, Memphis, TN 38148-0552. The family will receive friends 5-7PM, Thursday, March 10, 2016 at Allen & Allen Funeral Home Chapel.
