Peter James Wolek, 59, of Lake Oconee, GA, passed away September 16, 2015.
Born December 5, 1955 in Chicago, Illinois, Pete was married for 40 years to Mary Greenland Wolek, who survives him. He was the son of the late Ed and Betty Wolek. Brothers Vince (Blanca) Wolek and Ed (Judy) Wolek survive.
Pete received his Bachelor of Accounting from Florida State University. He and Mary resided in Thomasville for over 30 years, while raising their three children. Pete’s priority was his family, and he shared his passion for church, sports and life with his friends and loved ones.
Pete’s family includes: daughter Pamela (Renaud) Monget; daughter Julie (Martin) Mueller; and son Stephen (Susan) Wolek. Grandchildren: Eliott and James Monget, Eliza Mueller and Emily Wolek.
Extended family includes: Arline Mason, Gloria (Fred) Schlemmer, Patsy Harkins, Caroline (Jason) Homrighaus, the late Christopher Harkins, Jeffrey (Brittney) Harkins, Nathan (Amy) Wolek, Michael Wolek, Dayna (Bill) Healy and Kristen Wolek.
The family will hold a Rosary on Sunday, September 20, 2015, starting at 3:00 pm followed by visitation until 5:00 pm, at Allen and Allen Funeral Home 110 W. Hansell St., Thomasville, GA 31792.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Monday, September 21, 2015, 11:00 am. Father David Koetter and Father Victor Seidel will officiate the service.
