Services for Philip Gerald Heaton, 89 of Thomasville will be held at 10am, Saturday, August 6, 2016 at Allen & Allen Funeral Home Chapel. Bishop Ben Smith will officiate and interment will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Mr. Heaton passed away August 4 at his residence. Born July 16, 1927 in Provo, Utah, he was the son of the late Gerald Frederick Heaton and Ione Huish Heaton. He was preceded in death by wife Billie Mary Massey Heaton. Mr. Heaton was a retired United States Air Force veteran with 23 years of service. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saint where he served as a home teacher. He also worked with missionaries and was a temple worker. He was an active supporter of veterans. He is survived by his daughters, Lisa Kaye Heaton of Richmond Virginia and Gail Lea Heaton and husband Maury Hancock of Richmond Virginia; brother & sister-in-law, Harry & Karon Kelso of Thomasville; Niece, Carol Kelso of Thomasville; nephews, Bruce Duncan and Mark Duncan both of California. He is also survived by his loving caregivers, Tracey Murphy, Crystal Weatherington, Lily Yearwood, Rhonda Goodson and Marie Christopher. He is preceded in death by sister, Anne Duncan. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to American Diabetes Assoc, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312 ( www.diabetes.org ), LDS Relief Fund, 1450 N. University Ave, Provo, UT 84604( www.ldsphilanthropies.org ) or the National Military Family Assoc, 3601 Eisenhower Avenue, Suite 425, Alexandria, VA 22304 ( www.militaryfamily.org ). The family will receive friends 5-7pm, today at the funeral home.
