Services for Phyllis Chastain Nail will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, October 16 at First Baptist Church of Thomasville. Rev. Tom Jacobs, Daniel Myers and Randall Myers will officiate and interment will be held in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Born December 21, 1952 in Thomasville she was the daughter of the late Luther Cleveland Chastain, Jr and Eloise Brinson Chastain. She was married to James E. Nail, Sr who survives. Phyllis began working at the Scott Street SOWEGA Senior Center on August 8, 1996. In the past seventeen years, Phyllis' presence at the center has been more than just a job. She genuinely cared for the seniors she served. She was a constant giver to the community and was a supporter of the United Way. Phyllis touched many, many lives through her service at the center. As director, her facility held the largest attendance and participation for the Meals on Wheels program. She worked diligently, giving of herself for anyone in need. She was held dear and admired by many whom she has helped during her years of service and she in tern held them dear as well. She was a giving mother, wife, Sister and friend, who brought light and love to all that knew her. She devoted her extra time to her 3 grandchildren who will forever miss their "Maphy". Though Phyllis has left us in daily life, she continues to give to others selflessly by donating her organs. Phyllis' death is giving life to three individuals who without her donations would not be receiving these lifesaving organs. Other survivors include her children, Kristin Doane and husband Nathan, Jamie Nail all of Thomasville and Wesley Nail and wife Melissa of Alpharetta; grandchildren, Jad Doane, Davis Doane and Adalyn-Kate Doane; sisters, Connie Chastain Lambert and husband Stanley Lambert of Kennesaw, and Vicki Chastain McGuyrt of Thomasville; brother, Chip Chastain and wife Jennifer of Lester; uncle & aunt, Donald & Jean Brinson; aunt & uncle, Carlton & Jeanette Parrish and aunt & uncle Diane & Tommy Williams all of Thomasville; nephew, Ryan Smith and wife Carrie of Kennesaw; nieces, Dana Johns and husband Matt of Loganville, Whitney Smith of Kennesaw and Amanda Stewart and husband Roger of Marietta and special friend Joan Fleetwood of Thomasville. She was preceded in death by son Adam Chastain Nail. It's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years.
