Services for Polly C. Bowman, 75, are at 2 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009 at Hardage-Giddens Town and Country Funeral Home in the chapel, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, Fla. She went home to be with the Lord and loved ones on Dec. 13, 2009 in Seneca, South Carolina. Polly was born on August 23, 1934 in Colquitt, Georgia to the parents of J. Harmon Cook and Georgia Mae Cook. Polly was a longtime resident of Jacksonville, Florida where she retired from Bell South, after serving a faithful employment. Mrs. Bowman was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. She is survived by her loving son, William Bowman, Jr. Selma; daughters, Janis Dinkins Claude and Pamela Nichols Dwayne; sisters, Helen McMurria, June Richardson and Rose Shepherd; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren. Polly was preceded in death by her loving husband, William E. Bowman; brothers, Howell Cook and A.K. Cook; sister, Kathleen Woody. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2009 from 6:00 p.m. to 8: 00 p.m. at Hardage-Giddens Town and Country Funeral Home.
