Polly Baker Singletary, age 72, of Thomasville passed away on April 8, 2023, at her residence. She was born September 24, 1950, to the late Terrell Albie and Nancy Lee Deck Singletary. She was a graduate of Thomasville High School, earned her Bachelor’s from Converse College, and went on to receive her Master’s degree from University of GA and later earned her Master’s in social work. Polly worked in the Atlanta-Fulton County School District for over 30 years as a teacher and a school social worker. She was also a member of First Baptist Church of Thomasville. She enjoyed her plants and flowers, horseback riding, traveling, sailing, reading, and cooking. Polly was a constant advocate for children and loved her dogs. She is survived by her brother Dr. William Marle Singletary (Suzanne) of Philadelphia, PA; sisters Nancy Watson Singletary (Jesse Booth) of Thomasville, GA, and Martha Singletary Hanna (Michael) of Thomasville, GA.
