Ralph Lewis Depew

Memorial services for Ralph Lewis DePew “Toad”, 96, of Thomasville, will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday March 17, 2018 in the Chapel of Allen & Allen Funeral Home. His family will greet friends prior to the service from 10:00-11:00 AM. Mr.DePew passed peacefully away on January 11, 2018 in his residence at Southern Pines Senior Living Community. Born November 2, 1921 in Towanda, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Clarence Lewis DePew and Edith Kinsley DePew. Ralph graduated from Waverly High School in New York and served in the United States Navy and Merchant Marines during WWII. Mr. DePew married Betty Loomis September 6, 1947 and had a career in sales. He was a Presbyterian and a former member of Glen Arven Country Club. Following retirement, he and Betty both worked for the Thomas County Public Library System and enjoyed reading, traveling, and camping in their motorhome. Survivors include his wife, Betty; daughter, Devony Morgan (Neil – deceased) of Marietta, Georgia; son, Keith DePew (Jamie) of Jacksonville, Florida; grandchildren, Tracy and Matt Baker, Anna Morgan, Amanda and Ryan Wilson, Stephanie and RJ Maurice, Katie DePew and her fiancé Lyndon Lewis and great-grandchildren, Clark and Liam Wilson, Colton and Harper June Maurice and Banks Baker. The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the friends and staff at Southern Pines for all the loving care, support and kindness throughout Ralph’s illness. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Ralph may be made to the Thomas County Public Library System, 201 N.
