Raymond Carroll Waits

Services for Raymond Carroll Waits of Thomasville are at 11:00AM on Monday, July 31, 2006 at First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Leigh Ann Raynor and the Rev. A. Bob Dixon will officiate. Mr. Waits died July 28 at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Born September 1, 1937 in Colquitt Co., GA he was the son of the late Ralph Dewitt Waits, Sr. and Nina Bush Waits. He was married to Barbara P. Waits who survives. Mr. Waits was in retail business for 35 years. He graduated from Colquitt Co. High School, Norman College, University of Georgia and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a member of First United Methodist Church where he was a Sunday school superintendent, a member of the men?s quartet playing the hand bells. He was a former president of Downtown Merchants Association. Other survivors include a daughter, Julie Waits Brinson of Thomasville and granddaughter, Karlyn Brinson of Thomasville. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Waits, Jr., sister, Joyce Waits Adams and son-in-law, Judd Brinson. Memorial may be made to the First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 975, Thomasville, GA 31799. The family will receive friends on Monday from 10:00-11:00AM in the fellowship hall of First United Methodist Church.
