Graveside services for Raymond Francis Baker 90 of Thomasville will be held at 3pm, Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Rev. Mike Keown will officiate. Mr. Baker passed away March 14, 2013 at Archbold Hospital. Born April 23, 1922 in Freeport, Fl, he was the son of the late Virtus Turbyfill Baker. He was married to Sara Olga Rhimes Baker who preceded him in death. Mr. Baker was a veteran of the United States Army where he served in the Pacific Theater, Dixie Division of the 125th Infantry Division; he was an officer for the Thomas County Sheriff Dept, and was a member of First Newark Baptist Church. He was a 32nd degree Free Mason; he was a member of the Hasan Shriners in Albany; a member of the Thomasville Shriners Club; he was a member of the Scottish Rite Free Masonry of Albany and was a member of the Grand Lodge of Georgia for 39 years. Survivors include step brother, Jack Baker and wife Mitzie of Albany and step sister, Joanne Watson and husband Forrest of Maulk, Ga and over 50 nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by son, Dale Baker and 5 brothers and sisters. The family will be receiving friends 1-2:30 before the service at the funeral home.
