Rebecca C. Knight
Services for Rebecca C. Knight, 102, of Boston, are at 3 p.m., Sunday, October 26, 2008, at Boston Baptist Church. The Rev. Tim Phillips will officiate and interment is in Boston City Cemetery. Mrs. Knight died October 23 at her residence. Born, February 3, 1906, in Thomas County, she was the daughter of the late T.L. and Minnie Folsom Cook. She was married to S. Scott Knight, who preceded her in death. She was a retired educator, having taught in the schools of North Carolina and Georgia for 41 years, the last 29 years being at Boston Consolidated School. A devoted member of Boston Baptist Church, Mrs. Knight served as clerk for many years and as Sunday school Superintendent. She was active in community affairs and was a member and officer of the Boston 20th Century Club. Survivors include nephews, Oscar T. Cook, Jr. and wife, Margaret of Boston and L.S. Vann and wife, Sarah of Thomasville; great-niece, Rachel Beverly and husband, Frank of Thomasville; great-nephew, Oscar T. Cook, III and wife, Amy of Thomasville; great great-nephews, Franklin B. Beverly Jr. and Thomas Cook Beverly; great great-nieces, Abigail Loraine Cook, Katherine Camille Cook and Amelia Esther Cook all of Thomasville. She was preceded in death by a sister, Maggie Lou Larkins; and a brother, Oscar T. Cook. Memorial contributions may be made to Boston Cemetery Maintenance Foundation, P.O. Box 492, Boston, GA 31626.
