Rebecca Deane Carlton (Becky) went to be with the Lord on April 6, 2014. She was the beloved daughter of Bettye Jo Griffin Carlton of Coolidge, GA and the late Horace Wright Carlton. In addition to her mother, Becky is survived by her sister, Charlesy Jo Carlton Davis and husband Len from Coolidge, Georgia; and her brothers, Daniel Wright Carlton and wife Becky of Coolidge, Georgia and David Moncrief Carlton and wife Laurie of Thomasville, Georgia. She is also survived by nephews Michael Lendon Davis and wife Becca of Boston, Georgia ; Luke Davis and wife Mary of Tallahassee, Florida ; Matthew Carlton and wife Nichole of Stuttgart, Arkansas ; Thomas Carlton and wife Jennifer of Shreveport, Louisiana and Jacob Carlton of Thomasville. Becky had one niece, Kayla Carlton of Thomasville; one grand nephew, Nathan Davis of Boston, Georgia and one grand niece, Claire Carlton of Stuttgart, Arkansas.
She received Christ as her savior at a young age and was a member of Coolidge Memorial Baptist Church. Becky graduated with honors from Nathan Bedford Forest High School in Jacksonville, Florida, and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Florida State University. Becky was employed for twenty nine years with Flowers Industries:
first in the corporate accounting department in Thomasville, Georgia, and later in the accounting department at Flowers Bakery.
Becky loved God, her family, her country and her friends. A proud American, she was a dedicated supporter of nature conservation and our national parks. She loved gardening and maintained a fruit orchard for all of her much loved family to enjoy. She had a tender and caring heart that was happiest at family gatherings of all kinds. Her love, humor and laughter blessed her family and will not be forgotten.
Services for Rebecca Deane Carlton will be held at Coolidge Memorial Baptist Church in Coolidge, GA on Wednesday, April 9th, 2014 at 3:00pm. Interment will follow at Big Creek Baptist Church Cemetery on US 319. The Reverend Mike Keown will officiate.
The family will receive friends at Allen & Allen Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 8th, 2014 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.
