Rebecca Lee Catlin

October 6, 1946 — June 8, 2024

Beloved wife and mother, Rebecca Lee Catlin, 77, passed away unexpectedly on June 8, 2024 in Thomasville, GA. She was born in Los Angeles, CA on October 6, 1946 to the late Harold and Lynette Meister. Affectionately known as Becky, she and her family landed in Mauston, WI, where she called home. She attended the University of Wisconsin in Stevens Point, WI before meeting the man who stole her heart, Louis (Lou) Francis Catlin, III (of Shelton, CT) in 1965. Becky and Lou were married on September 17, 1966 in Mauston, WI.
They spent the first nine years of their marriage living in and around the northeast and midwest but eventually laid roots in Wapakoneta, OH in 1975. Here, she was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, a devoted wife, and an adoring mother. She and her husband co-owned The Haberdashery in Wapakoneta before she turned her attention to a career in accounting. She earned a degree in accounting while working full-time at Springborn Laboratories in Spencerville, OH until, in 1996, Lou's job took them to Thomasville, GA. She continued her work in Accounting at Riverside Manufacturing in Moultrie, GA and then Office Management at Jones Tractor in Thomasville, GA before retiring in 2010.
Becky enjoyed spending time at her and Lou's second home in Mexico Beach, FL, crocheting, cheering on the Ohio State Buckeyes, reading and spoiling her absolutely adored family pets. She lived her life in awe of God's creations around her including her backyard birds and many, many plants. Becky was extremely witty, kind and selfless. She was a committed member of Saint Augustine Church in Thomasville, GA where she taught children's Faith Formation for several years.
Becky was preceded in death by her sister, Melissa Triplett of Wapakoneta, OH, and brother-in-law Ronald Catlin of Jacksonville, FL.
Becky is survived by her husband, Louis Catlin, III, her children Louis Catlin, IV of Wapakoneta, OH, Angela Kantner (Jason) of Thomasville, GA and Renee Henderson (Jim) of Thomasville, GA. Grandchildren include Michael McPheron (Nick) of Chicago, IL, Lauren Kramer (Kyle) of Spencerville, OH, Madison Catlin of Columbus, OH, Thomas Catlin of Lima, OH, Alexandria and Sam Kantner of Thomasville, GA, Finn and Maeva Henderson of Thomasville, GA, great-grandchildren Ava, Corbin and Gwen Kramer of Spencerville, OH and numerous nieces and nephews.
