Rebecca Anne “Becky” Floyd of Thomasville passed away at the age of 85 on Friday, April 24, 2026, at her home in Thomasville, Georgia. She was born on November 17, 1940, to the late R.E. and Sarah Annie Massey Floyd of Thomasville. She graduated from Thomasville High School in 1958 and then obtained her bachelor's degree in education from Oglethorpe University in Atlanta in 1962. She was also a member of First Baptist Church of Thomasville.
Over the years, Becky worked as a recreation center director and in the education field. She also worked at Sonshine Cottage in Thomasville. Later she joyfully worked as a librarian, which was her true calling. An avid reader and crossword puzzle enthusiast, Becky also enjoyed supporting the theater, including TOSAC, and spending time with family and friends.
Becky is survived by many loved ones, including her brother, Howard Floyd (Robbie) of Thomasville, sister, Cynthia Miller, of Pavo; nieces, Deborah Fiveash (Stanley), of Thomasville, Donna Courson of Lake Park, and Maria Browning (Shea) of Pearson; nephews, Scott Floyd (Cherie Stewart) of Morven, Shan Miller (Rosie) of Pavo, and Bret Miller (Mylinda) of Barney; great-nieces, Stacy Solberger (Ryan) of Thomasville, Kristin Frailey (Mike) of Marietta, Leah Browning of Pearson, and SarahRose Miller of Pavo; great-nephews Peyton Miller and Hunter Baxter of Thomasville, Caleb Courson (Tory) of Atlanta, and Aidan Browning of Pearson; step-daughters, Amanda Irwin and Melissa Davis (Mark) of Wilmington, North Carolina; and step-grandchildren, Grayson Irwin, Sydney White, Cameron White, and Tyrelle White. An abundance of cousins and other family and close friends also survive. In addition to her parents, Becky was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Teachey, and brother-in-law, Clinton Miller, Jr., of Pavo.

A memorial service officiated by Pastor Paul Ballard will be held on Monday, April 27, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Allen & Allen Funeral Home in Thomasville. Interment will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be at 1:00 PM ahead of the memorial service on Monday.
