Funeral services for Rema Wayne Forte will be at 2pm on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at the Connection Assembly with Justin Powell officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7pm on Monday at Allen & Allen Funeral Home. Rema “Wayne” Forte (Pop), age 74, passed away on September 18, 2021, at Archbold Memorial Hospital. He was born March 26, 1947, in Hahira, GA, son to the late Rema Samuel and Othel Davis Forte. He attended school in Nashville and Hahira Georgia, later graduating from George P. Butler High School in Augusta, GA in 1965. Wayne married Nancy Boynton in Adel Georgia on September 18, 1966. Wayne was an Air Force Master Sergeant and retired after 22 years. He also worked for Thomas University until retirement and loved every student he came in contact with. Wayne was well loved by his extended family at various restaurants in Thomasville. They all lovingly knew him as “Pop.” Wayne loved people and brought joy to others, and no one ever knew when he had a bad day. He was a devoted husband for 55 years and loved his family more than himself.
He leaves to cherish his memory children Benjamin Wayne Forte of Thomasville, Andrew B. (Amanda) Forte of Thomasville, and Amanda Forte (Jason) Baggett of Bonaire; grandchildren A.J. Forte, Autumn Baggett, Jacob Layne, Olivia Layne, Lila Forte, Jase Baggett, and Joshua Layne; sister Yvonne Forte (Charles) Green, brother Joseph Patrick (Tina) Forte; stepmother Sara B. Forte; nephew Stewart White, niece Shana White and niece Heidi Boynton (Brett) Butler. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, wife Nancy Boynton Forte, and nephew Heath Boynton.
