Services for Rev. Carl Plymel, Jr. of Thomasville are at 10:00AM on Saturday, September 10, 2005 at the First Assembly of God where he was a member. The Rev. Bruce Willingham and the Rev. Joseph Landreth will officiate and interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers are Dickie Plymel, Timmy Plymel, Jason Plymel, Carl Plymel, Chad Plymel, Terrence Cook, Michael Cook, Daniel Cook, Walter Jones and Randy Hickey. Rev. Plymel died September 6, 2005 at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Born January 12, 1932 in Colquitt Co., GA he was the son of the late Carl Plymel, Sr. and Mandy Boyd Plymel. On March 17, 1950 in Moultrie, GA he married Berta Hancock Plymel who survives. He was a minister and a retired contractor. Rev. Plymel was a veteran of the United States Army during the Korean War. Other survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Tony Lynn and Kathy Plymel of Thomasville, daughters and sons-in-law, Faye and Terry Cook of Dixie, GA, Kay and Jimmy Jones of Thomasville, daughter-in-law, Connie Plymel of Meigs, GA; grandchildren, Jason Plymel, Chad Plymel, Carl Plymel, Amy P. Gelles, Terrence Cook, Daniel Cook, Michael Cook, Rusty Jones, Walter Jones; great grandchildren, Lenna Plymel, Natalee Plymel; brothers, Paul Plymel, Phillip Plymel both of Albany, GA, sisters, Betty Trull of Spring Cook , FL, Barbara Tippler of Tallahassee, FL and Doris Plymel of Albany, GA. A son, Andy Lee Plymel and a grandson, David Anthony Plymel, preceded him in death. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7-9PM on Friday.
