Oather B. Hughes

Funeral services for Rev. Oather B. Hughes will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, April 21, 2003 at Allen & Allen Funeral Chapel with the Rev. A.C. Gillaird officiating. Interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Mr. Hughes died April 18, 2003 at the Brian Health Center. He was born on March 29, 1919 in Frisco City, Al. to Richard Bartley Hughes and Georgia Byrd Hughes who both preceded him in death. Mr. Hughes was a minister and worked for Hatcher Pest Control. He was a member of Long Branch Baptist Church and was a Mason. He married Jewel Cranford Hughes on Dec. 22, 1981 in Thomasville who survives. Other survivors include son Richard Hughes of Naples, Fl., stepdaughter Carol Rollins of Thomasville, stepdaughter Susan Jenkin of Crawfordville, Fl., 3 sisters and 2 brothers, ten grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son O.B. Hughes, Jr. The family will recieve friends from 4:00 - 6:00 at the funeral home. Guest may sign the online guest book at allenfh.com.
