Rex Burton Hodges, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on January 14, 2024, at the age of 86. Born on September 11, 1937, in Cottenwood, AL. Rex was a beloved member of his community in Thomasville, GA, where he resided.
Throughout his life, he cherished his role as a husband and found immense joy in spending time with his wife, Martha Hodges and his family.
As a hardworking farmer, Rex found solace in the agricultural industry. He devoted his days to his crops, tending to his animals, and maintaining his farmland. Rex's dedication to his work earned him the respect and admiration of his peers. For 25 years he was a farm manager at Green Ridge Plantation and worked at Bennett’s Cash & Carry for 25 years before retiring. His commitment to farming was fueled by his love for nature and his desire to provide for others. He was Farmer of the Year for Thomas County in 1977.
Outside of work, Rex had a passion for training bird dogs, participating in field trials, and riding horses. He cherished the company of his family during their Saturday morning horse rides with his granddaughter Katie, creating lasting memories and strengthening their bond.
