Richard Marlin Edge

Graveside services for Richard Marlin Edge, 68, of Thomasville, are at 4:30 p.m., Thursday, March 4, 2010 in Laurel Hill Cemetery on Georgia Street. The Rev. Dr. Milton C. Gardner will officiate. Mr. Edge passed away March 1 at his residence. Born, Sept. 4, 1941, in Moultrie, he was the son of the late Edwin S. and Katherine Roberts Edge. On July 8, 1970, in Moultrie, he married Alice Kornegay Edge, who survives. He was a 1959 graduate of Thomasville High School. He attended Birdwood College and the University of Georgia. He was Broker and owner of Edge Realty. He was a member of First Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon, Thomasville Kiwanis Club, Ducks Unlimited and Thomasville Board of Realtors. Other survivors include a daughter, Connie E. Massare of Atlanta, Ga.; sister and brother-in-law, Kay E. and Dohn Bonner of Forsyth, Ga.; niece, Katherine Bonner Branch and husband, John of Warner Robins, Ga.; nephew, Wallace Bonner and wife, Jennifer of Albany; four great-nieces. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Thomas County Public Library, 201 North Madison Street, Thomasville, Ga. 31792 or to a charity of your choice. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Visitors may sign the online guest register at www.allenfh.com .
