Richard E. Miller, 77, died on December 25, 2019, at the Thomasville Nursing and Rehab Center in Thomasville, GA after being diagnosed with a brain tumor a couple of years ago. Richard was born to the late Eli & Katie (Lehman) Miller on July 6, 1942, in LaGrange, Indiana, the second of seven children. On November 28, 1963, he married Vera Bontrager, had eight children but raised six children with two preceding him in death. Daddy, Pop, Poppa, Rick loved God, and he loved his family. He was a man who loved to talk and laugh. In fact, he enjoyed meeting strangers because he just loved people, and he was great at telling stories. He could tell Bible stories in such a way, it made you feel like you were there. The tales he could spin during family reunions brought lots of laughter. Richard had a variety of jobs during his lifetime. He was a farmer, a foreman at a mobile home plant, a salesman, and a MIDS driver. The one that he enjoyed the most was being a preacher of God’s word. He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Crist & Ervin Miller as well as two daughters, Joy & Faith Miller. He is survived by his wife, Vera; six children: Grace Miller, Charity (Miller) Kines, James Miller, Deborah (Miller) Killett, Philip Miller, Thomas Miller; six grandchildren and one great grandchild. He is also survived by four siblings: Leanna (Miller) Miller, Marvin Miller, Edna (Miller) Yoder, Vera Sue (Miller) Yoder and many nieces and nephews (each of you was his favorite) as well as great & great-great nieces and nephews. A special thank you to Archbold Hospice of Southwest Georgia for all of their care to Richard during his last days. His viewing will be held before the service from 10 -11 AM at Antioch Baptist Church. Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 28, 2019, at Antioch Baptist Church. Interment to follow in church cemetery. Reverends James R. Miller and Arnold Buckner will officiate. Family and friends are invited to visit his online tribute page at
