Richard Porter

Funeral services for Richard P. Porter of Ochlocknee will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, January 18, 2005 at St. Augustine?s Catholic Church with Father Jacek Szuster officiating. Mr. Porter died January 15, 2005 at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Born on Aug. 23, 1931 in Kalamazoo Michigan, he was the son of the late Harold Porter and Bessie Wagner Porter. Mr. Porter was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a member of the VFW and St. Augustine?s Catholic Church where he served in the Knights of Columbus. He was a retired truck driver for a beverage distributor in Toledo, Ohio where he worked for 15 years. He was married for 35 years to Perly Mausisa Porter of Ochlocknee who survives. Other survivors include his son Randy Harold Porter who is serving in Iraq, son and daughter-in-law Richard and Janice Porter of Ohio; brothers and sisters-in-law Alan & Barbara Porter of Ocala, Fl., and Carl & Dorothy Porter of Tennessee, sister and brother-in-law Margie & Jim Fosgate of Temperance, Michigan; grandchildren Michelle & Josh Goldsby, Mike & Tiffany Porter; sister-in-law and husband Julieta & Felipe Cabilao; and many other relatives and friends. Memorials may be made to St. Augustine?s Catholic Church. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 9:00 PM on Monday, January 17, 2005 at the funeral home with a Rosary beginning at 6:00 PM.
