Services for Richard Rufus Shackelford Jr, 77, of Thomasville are 10:00 am, Friday, June 25, 2010 at Allen & Allen Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Curtis Eason will officiate. Mr. Shackelford died June 18, 2010 in Brooks Co. Hospital. Born May 9, 1933 in Thomasville, he was the son of the late Richard Rufus Shackelford, Sr and Hattie Marie Cox Shackelford. He was married to Laura Aldridge Shackelford, who survives. Mr. Shackelford was retired from Thomas Co. as a building maintenance supervisor, worked for H&H Construction, Shackelford Construction and sold real estate. Survivors include son Chadwick Allen Shackelford of Thomasville, brothers, James A. Shackelford of Panama City, Panama and Charles Shackelford of Thomasville; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sisters, Betty Watson, Patsy Godwin and Nell Stillwell. The family will receive friends 6-8 pm, Thursday, June 24, 2010 at Allen & Allen Funeral Home.
