Richard V Wood Ii

Richard V. Wood, II of Thomasville, Georgia died on April 21, 2023 following an extended illness. He was 57 years old. Richard graduated from Brookwood High School and was a member of the 1983 state championship football team. He attended Abraham Baldwin College in Tifton and served in the United States Army. He was a gentle giant who loved sports and animals.
He is survived by his daughters, Danielle Stewart of Thomasville, Georgia and Jordan Coleman of Leesburg, Georgia. He is also survived by grandchildren Jacob Stewart, Noah Stewart, Nate Stewart, Eliza Jade Coleman, and Alice Coleman. Additional survivors include his brother, Roger Wood, of Fredericksburg, Virginia, his father, Richard Wood and half siblings Katherine and Lachlan Wood all of St. Simons Island, Georgia. He is also survived by his longtime companion, Andrea Strickland. Richard was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred "Milcie" Wood.
The family will hold a memorial service at a later date. Anyone wishing to do so is invited to make a donation in remembrance of Richard to the Thomasville Humane Society.
