Robert Allen Sherrod

Services for Robert Allen Sherrod, 74, of Coolidge are at 11:00a.m. Monday at Big Creek Baptist Church. The Revs. Dewitt Rehberg and Tommy Kinchen will officiate. Interment is at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers are H.L. Sherrod, Sam Sherrod, Irvan NeSmith, Dayne Parramore, Neel Parramore, Louis Rehberg, Jerry Salter, and Craig Smith. Honorary Pallbearers are the Deacons of Big Creek Baptist Church , Wayne Dollar, and Claude Parramore. Born August 25, 1928 he was the son of the late James Bennett and Neva Parramore Sherrod. On December 10, 1949 he married Louise Croft Sherrod who survives. Mr. Sherrod was a U.S. Navy veteran and a farmer. He was a member of Big Creek Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Mr. Sherrod was an eight year state representative, a member of Masonic Lodge #369, Eastern Star Chapter 46, and the Thomas County Farm Bureau. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law JoAnn and Ken Wheeler of Dacula, GA and a sister-in-law Joyce S. Sherrod of Coolidge, sister-in-law Ann Smith, sister & brother-in-law Rosa Jo and Richard Dowdy. Grandchildren include Lou Ellen and Mike Marlatt and Rob Wheeler. He was preceded in death by brothers Bennett Cecil Sherrod and Harold Lee Sherrod. The family will recieve friends from 3-5p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
